Job Description

As a Mental Health Technician at Hospital for Behavioral Medicine, you will function as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling. Your work will involve:

  • Taking and recording vital signs properly.
  • Utilizing sound judgment during assessment and observing changes in patients' appearance, behavior, or ability to work towards treatment plan goals.
  • Communicating changes in patients' conditions to the charge nurse.
  • Following therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness.
  • CPR certification and CPI training within 30 days of employment.
