Job Title: Mental Health Support Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Blue Hills Recovery in Worcester, MA. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to adults undergoing treatment for mental health and/or substance abuse.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with daily activities under supervision.
  • Evaluate and report any issues related to the clinical schedule.
  • Transport clients as needed (Valid driver's license required).
  • Maintain safety protocols, adhering to regulations from the Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation, and State safety standards.
  • Conduct regular facility checks, ensuring overall safety.
  • Report contraband findings and suspicions immediately to supervisors.
  • Promote a supportive environment that respects patient rights.
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping staff regarding upkeep and maintenance.
  • Prepare rooms and common areas for client admission and discharge.
  • Foster an atmosphere conducive to ethical treatment.
  • Engage in constructive criticism and evaluation of suggestions.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and be punctual.
  • Cultivate a positive work atmosphere based on teamwork.
  • Attend necessary training sessions and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Adapt to changing work environments.
  • Report suspected contagious diseases to Facility Directors.
  • Maintain a safe physical environment.
  • Communicate grievances, incidents, and breaches to Supervisors.
  • Solve problems independently and follow through.
  • Work independently in a treatment program setting.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
  • CPR certification and other certifications listed in job description must be maintained up-to-date.
  • CLIA waived training completion and adherence to guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work as a team member, and possess organizational skills.
  • Flexibility in working under stressful conditions.
  • Knowledge of TJC standards within the department.
  • Verbal and written communication skills proficiency.
  • Awareness of state and federal confidentiality laws.
  • Compliance with Drug-Free Workplace policies.
  • Completion of Harassment and Discrimination training.
  • Understanding of Corporate Integrity and Compliance Program.
  • Familiarity with current technology and Substance Use Disorder knowledge.
  • Ability to score 70% or higher on SUD Training.
  • Awareness of community resources.
