We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Dietary Services to lead our Dietary Department at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dietary Department and ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Plan, develop, and implement dietary programs and services that meet the needs of our residents, aligning with the center's mission and goals.
  • Department Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes resident satisfaction and well-being.
  • Facility Maintenance: Inspect and maintain food storage rooms, utility closets, and other areas to ensure cleanliness and safety, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and implement plans to correct dietary service deficiencies, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality care and services.
  • Resident Care: Assist in planning resident discharge plans and participate in facility surveys, demonstrating a commitment to resident-centered care.
  • Dietary History: Interview residents and family members to obtain diet history and maintain records of food likes and dislikes, ensuring that our residents' nutritional needs are met.
  • Menu Planning: Develop and implement methods for determining quality and quantity of food served, ensuring that our residents receive a balanced and nutritious diet.
  • Menu Development: Plan and develop regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physicians, taking into account resident preferences and dietary needs.
  • Compliance: Review and ensure compliance with physician's orders, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Meet with administration, medical, and nursing staff to plan food service programs and activities, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes resident satisfaction and well-being.
  • Environmental Safety: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in dietary service work areas, ensuring that our residents and staff are protected from harm.
  • Supply Chain Management: Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Dietitian and/or Administrator, ensuring that our Dietary Department has the necessary resources to provide high-quality care.
  • Procurement: Place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary, ensuring that our Dietary Department has the necessary resources to provide high-quality care.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure adequate stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment, minimizing waste and ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality care.
  • Vendor Management: Assist in interviewing food supply vendors and purchasing food service supplies, ensuring that our Dietary Department has the necessary resources to provide high-quality care.
  • Care Planning: Develop a written dietary plan of care that identifies dietary problems/needs and goals, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality care.
  • Rapport Building: Develop and maintain a good rapport with others involved in the care plan, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes resident satisfaction and well-being.
