Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Property Manager to join our team at the Aurora Housing Authority. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties, providing excellent customer service to our residents, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the completion of property accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of apartments after move-out to determine security deposit dispositions.
  • Stay up-to-date on property conditions and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all funding source regulations, including LIHTC, RTC, and Project-Based Section 8.
  • Provide direction and delegate tasks to property staff, with the ability to manage multiple properties.
  • Lease apartments, including conducting reference and credit checks, processing applications, and preparing lease documents.
  • Coordinate move-ins, inspecting units to ensure staff and vendors meet company standards.
  • Monitor advertising and maintain waiting lists to ensure full occupancy.
  • Enforce Fair Housing rules and regulations.
  • Respond to resident complaints and concerns.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Housing Program Regulations and Compliance, including experience with Tax Credits, Project-Based Section 8, and Public Housing.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current insurance.
  • Solid knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, leasing and resident relations, and computer skills.
  • Minimum of one year of experience.
  • Ability to give direction, delegate responsibility, and promote a responsive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Project-Based Section 8 experience is strongly preferred. If you have this experience, please ensure it is noted on your resume or application.

This is a competitive compensation and benefits package, including health and dental insurance, 3 weeks of vacation after 2 years of service, 12 paid holidays per year, STD/LTD, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
