Job Description

About the Role

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is seeking a highly skilled Business Support Professional II to join our team. As a key member of our Business Support team, you will provide high-level administrative support to our Catalytic Carbon Transformation and Scale-up Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Economic, Sustainability, and Market Analysis team, including calendar maintenance, purchase card ordering, and meeting planning.
  • Support other Business Support team members in their absence and on an as-needed basis.
  • Coordinate foreign and domestic travel, including submitting requests, tracking approvals, and processing expense reports.
  • Process work orders and move forms, and work with online administrative tools.
  • Coordinate lab inspections, take notes, and submit findings in Inspection Tracker.
  • Compose presentations and assist with publication preparation and documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.
  • Solid knowledge of the job, including general and detailed aspects of business support activities.
  • Intermediate skills in applicable software packages and office equipment.
  • Basic project administration skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communications and very good team and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of specialized focused business support functions.
  • Complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of business support activities and their practical applications.
  • Experienced skills in applicable software packages and office equipment.
  • Full knowledge of specific principles, procedures, and practices related to supported fields and disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, team, and interpersonal skills.
