Position Overview

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, our client is seeking an Electromechanical Systems Engineer to become a vital part of their team. In this role, you will collaborate with both the manufacturing division and the R&D team to resolve intricate electrical and systems challenges while also contributing to ongoing enhancement initiatives. Your work will involve various electrical-mechanical systems, including the design of fixtures and the testing of prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

The Electromechanical Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing, assessing, and improving electrical-mechanical systems for diverse instruments.
  • Supporting production and maintenance teams in troubleshooting and maintaining automated processes.
  • Creating electro-mechanical fixtures to boost production and assembly-line productivity.
  • Engaging in design failure analyses, contributing to risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and FMEAs.
  • Working with the supply chain to identify and procure replacements for End-of-Life components.
  • Managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for electrical documentation, including schematics, manuals, and procedures, ensuring updates as needed.
  • Recommending equipment and subsystems to enhance both new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating closely with Electrical and Software/Firmware teams.
  • Utilizing programming skills (e.g., Visual Basic, VBA, C, Python) and understanding of serial communications (RS-232, I2C, SPI).
  • Having familiarity with regulatory compliance, EMI, and safety testing protocols is advantageous.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Electromechanical Systems Engineer position will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical, Systems, or Electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience in testing and systems engineering.
  • The ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading, creating, and modifying schematics.
