We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Equity Investment Manager to join our team at AIG. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for managing our private equity portfolio, including investment activity, risk management, and performance evaluation.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all investment activity in designated asset classes, including private equity fund strategies and direct equity/co-invest portfolios.
- Advise the CIO team on current and future allocation levels, considering changing market conditions and risk appetite.
- Liaise with external managers, coordinate risk management, and ensure timely reporting.
- Collaborate with AIG CIOs and third-party investment managers to evaluate the portfolio and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and maintain performance benchmarks, establish formal manager oversight processes, and produce materials for AIG governing committees.
- Utilize AIG platforms to aggregate data, perform internal analysis, and attend industry conferences as needed.
- Coordinate with external managers to provide reporting data to CIOs, ERM, Investment Accounting, and other AIG departments.
- Conduct special projects, such as analysis of private equity holdings, portfolio exposures, performance attribution, and investment strategy.
- 10+ years of experience in investment management or insurance asset management, with a focus on private equity investments.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to infuse the internal investment process with new ideas.
- MBA or CFA preferred.
- Third-party manager oversight experience, including vetting managers and GPs.
- Experience with eFront preferred, although not required.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical reasoning skills.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Limited traveling (up to 10%).
