Job Title: Private Equity Investment Analyst

VCFA Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Private Equity Investment Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Investment team, you will be responsible for supporting the evaluation of potential investments, learning to screen and develop new investment opportunities, and building relationships with existing and prospective general partners and funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Investment team in the evaluation of potential investments
  • Learn to screen and develop new investment opportunities through the deal sourcing and selection process
  • Build relationships with existing and prospective general partners and funds
  • Prepare for and conduct due diligence meetings, including preparing agendas and extensive questions relevant to the opportunity at hand
  • Contribute and distribute industry news, research, and data to the team
  • Review and analyze target portfolio company financials and historical performance, determining valuation range assumptions conducive to delivering the expected rate of return on investment
  • Prepare VCFA financial models and presentations for Investment Committee meetings
  • Develop research materials and presentation slides dedicated to a specific sector or vertical
  • Take the lead on preparation of pitchbooks, market analyses, post-meeting follow-ups, data gathering for potential secondary investments
  • Work closely with the Investment team to develop equity distribution waterfall models based on projected scenarios
  • Perform post-investment monitoring of funds, including periodic meetings with general partners, annual meeting attendance, and office visits
  • Prepare comments for quarterly and annual reports
  • Manage and maintain data related to underlying fund performance and company data

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Energetic, motivated, and self-directed
  • Independent and able to work with little guidance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Uncompromising personal integrity

Beneficial:

  • Experience with financial valuation
  • Knowledge of venture capital and leveraged buyout markets

Compensation:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will consist of salary and bonus.
