Job Overview

The Flexographic Printing Press Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of printing presses, while strictly adhering to customer specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. This position is responsible for the successful execution of assigned tasks during the designated shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of printed materials to verify compliance with color accuracy, registration, substrate quality, and all other customer requirements.
  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal registration, color consistency, perforations, and other specific printing parameters.
  • Monitor press operations to identify and rectify any machine or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Perform adjustments on all press components, including feeders, grippers, guides, and other machinery, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Carry out visual inspections of all materials and inks prior to printing to identify defects or non-compliance with job specifications.
  • Execute final inspections to confirm that all materials, inks, plates, cylinders, and other specifications meet customer requirements before commencing production.
  • Review and interpret job specifications and work orders, delegating tasks or executing directions as necessary.
  • Document all job-related data, including time and materials, in the ERP system.
  • Ensure that all unused materials are returned to their designated areas after job completion.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and ensure proper line clearance. Keep accurate records of daily production activities and other required documentation. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the press.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cGMP, ISO, and Lean Manufacturing principles is advantageous. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience with inks and printing materials.
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) is required.
  • Proficiency in handling and maintaining die-cutting tools.
  • Experience in machine setup is essential.
  • Familiarity with UV and water-based inks is preferred.
  • Experience with vision systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance procedures in the pharmaceutical sector is desirable.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Job duties require repetitive bending, reaching, walking, stooping, lifting, and climbing.
