Planner/Scheduler

The Production Planner/Scheduler will work closely with the Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Maintenance, and Quality departments to ensure customer’s shipment demands are being met. This position will be in charge of scheduling the workflow in the printing, finishing and inspection departments in a way which will decrease setup times and optimize resources used for production.
Helps to maintain accurate raw material and finished goods records by assisting in the entering of all job related data (raw material) into the ERP system (DISO).
Forecast for future orders and work with the Purchasing Manager to manage appropriate levels of raw material and finished goods.
Fulfill batch documentation as required on the control plans.
Communicate any customer specific shipping requirements with the Shipping and Quality Departments.
Prepare production reports, overviews, and trends based on provided data from Controlling.
Determines production priorities, production sequence, and lead time of each machine press and inspection station by utilizing a customer database which contains customer delivery requirements, raw material inventory levels, sales forecasts and customer orders.
Works with the Team Leader to plan and schedule workflow of the printing and inspection departments according to current production schedule and lead times.
Analyzes and evaluates production capacity to determine the correct production equipment, material, tools, and human resources to use.
Makes adjustments to the production schedule when unforeseen conditions arise and expedites operations in an effort to minimize delays.
Ensure on-time shipping and notify Customer Service of any issues.
Traces outbound freight until final arrival at the customer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Logistics, Management or equivalent work experience
- 5 Years experience with planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- 3 years experience supervisory or Team Lead experience.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Intermediate level of computer knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Sitting for long periods of time.
