The Position

Location: Smithfield, RI *Required*

Hybrid: 2 weeks per month in office

Fidelity TalentSource LLC is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer in Test to join the Workplace Investing (WI) Data Quality Engineering team. In this capacity, you will be expected to fully engage with an Agile team and contribute to all phases of product development. Your role will involve advocating for quality to be integrated into the product from the outset. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting technical challenges and collaborating effectively with analysts, developers, and leaders across various teams.
 



Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in squad-level sprint activities and facilitate the delivery of testing and automation.
  • Formulate test strategies, design test cases, and prepare test data to ensure comprehensive test coverage and automation solutions.
  • Conduct requirement analysis, manage defect tracking, and oversee test reporting and signoff.
  • Utilize strong analytical and technical skills to resolve complex failures and perform root cause analysis on defects.
  • Drive the resolution of issues, communicate metrics, and provide status updates.
  • Support the team’s quality objectives and initiatives for process enhancement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to foster an understanding of quality engineering and its significance in the project lifecycle.
     


Required Skills
  • Proficiency in Test & Automation Tools: Jira, X-ray, Cucumber, Selenium
  • Programming Languages: Java, Python
  • API Testing Tools: RestAssured, Postman, SOAPUI
  • DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Git repositories
  • Database Knowledge: Oracle, Snowflake, POSTGRES, SQL-SERVER
  • Monitoring Tools: Splunk logs, Datadog logs
  • Ability to advocate for quality engineering
  • Strong communication skills that emphasize collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies to provide constructive feedback for enhancing sprint outcomes.
     


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or mathematics
  • Senior-level experience (8-10 years) in software development and testing.
  • Experience in API testing using RestAssured and Karate.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications in AWS or similar cloud platforms are advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential for Agile teamwork.
