Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Software Engineer in Test to enhance our Institutional Technology Group. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a blend of business acumen and technical expertise. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on both client-side and server-side technologies, providing ample opportunities for professional growth within Fidelity.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of a collaborative scrum team comprising software engineers and systems analysts, your contributions will include:
- Developing and implementing the QA automation strategy for our applications to facilitate swift delivery of essential customer features.
- Collaborating with engineering and business teams to define acceptance criteria and establish release testing requirements.
- Designing, executing, and finalizing functional and regression test cases/suites to ensure application readiness for deployment.
- Identifying, debugging, and isolating issues while verifying solutions.
- Creating minor application features using Java and/or Angular.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 5 years in software quality engineering.
- Experience in developing test automation solutions using tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, Fitnesse, Selenium, and TestNG.
- Familiarity with continuous integration practices and automated deployment tools.
- Proficiency in Java or similar programming languages.
- Solid understanding of SQL and database management.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Spring/Spring Boot, Angular, and RESTful services.
- Experience in service testing, preferably with Karate and/or RESTAssured frameworks.
- Familiarity with service virtualization tools like Wiremock or Parasoft Virtualize.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies.
- A comprehensive understanding of both manual and automated testing principles, including behavior-driven development (BDD).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
