Job Summary

Torpac Inc is seeking a highly skilled Operations Supervisor Distribution to lead our distribution center in New Jersey. This role is responsible for overseeing the operation of our distribution center, including inventory planning, shipment logistics, and finished product assembly.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution, with a minimum of 5 years of experience. International exposure is required, and excellent written communication skills are necessary for daily communication with our factory in India.

The Operations Supervisor Distribution will supervise three employees at our US office and be a member of the Company Management Team. We offer a competitive salary, health and dental plan, 401K plan with company match and contribution, and a fitness membership match.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maximize customer satisfaction with in-stock products while minimizing inventory levels and cost.
  2. Supervise inventory planning for one of our two product categories for our US & EU distribution centers and communicate this to our factory in India.
  3. Coordinate with customer service in US & Netherlands factory production team (separately managed unit in India) on production and dispatch planning.
  4. Overall responsibility for 30 shipments/day pick and pack in USA including truck/courier shipment.
  5. Responsible for coordinating customs, agriculture, and DEA clearance of inbound shipments. Approx. 3-4 import shipments/month to our distribution centers and providing support for 15-20 shipments/month from factory to customers.
  6. Finished product assembly & troubleshooting of table-top equipment using hand tools.
  7. Purchasing of all products & services used by the company including freight services and cargo/warehouse insurance policies.
  8. Responsible for office & warehouse facilities including general repairs and maintenance.
  9. Supervise and ensure monthly inventory cycle counts are completed and reconciled.
  10. Develop, train and recruit employees to achieve the expected results.
  11. Support President and Management Team in guiding company strategy and other job-related projects and duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution environment.
  • International exposure via work experience or personal travel required.
  • Very good written communication as there is daily written communication with the factory.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good quantitative and Excel skills e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, etc.
  • Good sense of geographical space and time horizons as position requires coordinating work at three locations (NJ, Netherlands and India) on a 3–6-month time horizon.
