Linen Distribution Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Linen Clerk to join our team at Stamford Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for distributing clean linen and supplies to various hospital departments, as well as collecting and staging soiled linen. This is a full-time position requiring 37.50 hours of work per week.
Key Responsibilities- Linen Distribution: Deliver clean linen and supplies to designated areas on a daily basis, as scheduled, and respond to additional requests from unit staff during shift.
- Soiled Linen Collection: Collect soiled linen from linen chutes according to the scheduled routine.
- Linen Organization: Maintain clean and organized linen storage areas in accordance with established procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and correctly operate all Storeroom equipment.
- Supply Chain Management: Fill stock requisitions by the end of each shift and follow through on filling backorders as soon as supplies are delivered from the vendor.
- Delivery and Receipt: Deliver all Storeroom orders, non-stock orders, and backorders to requesting departments by the end of each shift, requiring a signature upon delivery.
- Computer Access: Utilize the computer system to access requisitioning, receiving, par leveling, and inventory control functions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to pager notifications regarding emergency linen or supply requests.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Physical Demands: Capacity to transport linen carts weighing up to 500 pounds, with prolonged standing and walking required.
