Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Cycle Insurance Phone Representative to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of insurance claims, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to patients by obtaining and updating patient insurance information, and providing education on benefits, copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of insurance claims, including entering patient benefit amounts into the EHR.
  • Identify and report recurring insurance payment discrepancies, and work with revenue cycle management to resolve.
  • Escalate patient concerns and trends to revenue cycle management to ensure timely resolution and communication.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the EHR and adhere to established timelines and performance targets.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a revenue cycle or patient access role.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
