We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Plasser American Corp, a leading provider of Maintenance of Way equipment in North America. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company that invests heavily in the North American market.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in the railway industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, experience in heavy equipment design, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Professional and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in the railway industry
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement design changes
  • Analyze customer specifications and develop workable machine layouts
  • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards
  • Develop experimental test programs and report results to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment machinery design
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, weldments, and machining operations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Inventor Professional, and AutoCAD
