We are currently seeking an Equipment Estimator in Tampa, FL. In this position, you will engage closely with clients, account managers, project managers, technicians, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of estimates and project execution. Your responsibilities will include the technical selection and pricing of equipment for various projects, as well as providing estimating support to the equipment sales team.

Work environment:This position allows for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite weekly) and will be based out of our Tampa, FL location.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates, ensuring precision in quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc., for Trane materials, subcontractors, non-Trane purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities to assist account managers in project bidding.
  • Providing expertise and consultation by developing facility-related solutions for customer challenges.
  • Identifying project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to fulfill the complete HVAC system design and installation requirements for the customer.
  • Developing, assessing, and discussing potential solutions with account managers, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and/or customers.
  • Coordinating the selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, controls, and services for each project.
  • Preparing, finalizing, and reviewing preliminary and/or final proposals. Preparing equipment submittals and validating equipment selection.
  • Assisting account managers in determining proposal pricing, selling strategies, and developing project fulfillment schedules with the project team.
Expectations for candidates:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology is preferred, with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC, or construction management; or an equivalent combination of education and industry-related experience.
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and/or temperature controls is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel locally occasionally and possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including but not limited to:
    • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple minor infractions or preventable collisions in the past 3 years.
Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000 / annually + local incentive.
