Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Elevance Health. As a key member of our Cost of Care and Provider Contracting organizations, you will play a critical role in analyzing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improving the quality of care for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex data analyses to identify trends and patterns in healthcare costs
  • Develop and maintain financial models to project cost increases and identify areas for cost reduction
  • Collaborate with Medical Directors, contract negotiators, and management to develop defensible pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with providers
  • Measure and evaluate the cost impact of various negotiation proposals and recommend modifications as applicable
  • Research the financial profitability and stability of providers to determine the impact of proposed rates
  • Project different cost savings targets based on various analytics and identify opportunities for cost reduction
  • Develop and implement standardized practices to optimize cost of care
  • Provide educational support to provider contractors on contracting analytics from a financial impact perspective
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in finance, analytics, and healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a broad-based analytical, managed care payor or provider environment.

Preferred skills include proficiency in SQL or SAS, Microsoft Excel/Access, and the ability to work well with others.
