Rex Anatomic Pathology is seeking a skilled Histotechnologist to join their team. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will play a vital role in preparing tissue samples for pathologists to determine the cause of death, disease, and treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate equipment issues, test results, and workflow problems to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Participate in teams or special projects to drive quality and efficiency.
  • Perform quality control and equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare tissue slides by processing, embedding, sectioning, examining, and staining tissues from various sources.
  • Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, and train new employees to ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues, and report results to healthcare providers.
  • Review test results for accuracy and timeliness, and correct errors as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biological Science.
  • HTL(ASCP) certification within two years from date of hire.
  • Relevant laboratory experience, depending on degree and program completion.
