Fleet Mechanic Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at WEC Energy Group in Green Bay, WI. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining company vehicles by performing preventive maintenance inspections and servicing, non-critical welding, tire repairs, and vehicle cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform type "A", "B", and Aerial preventive maintenance inspections and servicing, including lubrication, oil changes, and brake system checks.
  • Diagnose and repair various vehicle parts and components, including engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.
  • Perform machining operations, such as resurfacing brake drums and rotors, honing brake cylinders, and grinding valves.
  • Change and repair tires, and perform oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, and hard facing welding in non-critical areas.
  • Clean and wash vehicles and work equipment, and provide relief for other positions as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with repairing and servicing automobiles, trucks, buses, and industrial/military vehicles.
  • Valid CDL or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Microsoft Office experience and ability to work independently.
