Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Coos Bay, Oregon. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance services on our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services on vehicles and equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document parts usage and repair times.
  • Review and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Extensive physical activity required, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment may be indoors in a shop or outdoors to repair trucks on the road.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred or ability to obtain in the future.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must provide own personal tools.
