About the Role:

This position supports the development and implementation of nutrition and food initiatives for children, families, and community members, aligning with Clayton Early Learning's whole child, whole family approach. The Senior Manager of Nutrition will oversee Seed to Stomach activities, food procurement, distribution, budgeting, and grant management. They will also manage partner relationships and services, continually growing and enhancing offerings provided by the organization to support child and family wellbeing. This role requires strategic leadership to realize the vision of the innovation hub for thriving children and families, delivering a coordinated and coherent set of evidence-based services that meet the needs of families, while working in partnership with Clayton team members to ensure that our direct services are both meeting the needs of families while impacting systems change beyond the Clayton Campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for nutrition and food initiatives, aligning with Clayton's strategic goals
  • Collaborate with Director Team members to set the vision for food and nutrition initiatives on the Clayton campus and drive partnership development and implementation
  • Review and evaluate Clayton Cares Market and manage contracts and contractor relationships
  • Oversee grant invoicing and reporting, including weekly monitoring of procurement and spending
  • Provide leadership and support to ensure programs are evidence-based, meeting the needs of stakeholders, and implemented appropriately
  • Ensure culturally responsive and inclusive practices in service delivery models to enhance the strengths for students, families, and employees
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders at partner organizations to enhance relationships and maintain effective relationships with agencies, consultants, and governing bodies
  • Oversee nutrition contract to ensure individualized services for the community
  • Oversee all aspects of the Clayton Cares Market, including purchasing, inventory, procurement, and food safety and sanitation
  • Lead wellness initiatives designed to benefit the nutrition and wellbeing of children, families, employees, and the community
  • Review expectations, policies, and procedures for assessment services and provide recommendations for continual improvement
  • Communicate effectively, representing Clayton's vision and approach to nutrition and food, and building credibility with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field
  • Experience in nutrition and food initiatives, with a focus on early childhood development
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and lead a team
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of economic, cultural, and societal challenges of ethnically diverse communities, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software

Compensation: $65,000-$80,000 annually

This position is a grant-funded position with guaranteed funding until July 31, 2025.
