Job Overview

Position Title: A/R Analyst

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Accounting

Supervisor: Director of Revenue and Treasury Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role encompass the following:

  • Oversee a portfolio of Attorney's Accounts Receivable.
  • Monitor the status of the Receivable portfolio through the accounting system's collection module.
  • Engage with Attorneys and Clients regarding overdue invoices.
  • Facilitate negotiations for repayment terms with Clients and track repayment progress.
  • Execute Accounts Receivable write-offs as necessary.
  • Prepare and dispatch Reminder Statements to Clients with outstanding balances.
  • Participate in monthly Billing and Collection Committee Meetings.
  • Conduct research and provide necessary collection data to Attorneys or Clients.
  • Assist in the daily payment application process, including posting checks and electronic payments via an automated system.
  • Investigate duplicate payments, overpayments, and short payments, communicating discrepancies to the Attorney or Client.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Payment Application within a professional services setting.
  • Proficient in managing time effectively, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication in person, via email, and over the phone with Clients, Attorneys, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with legal accounting software, preferably Aderant.
  • Experience with document management systems for filing purposes.
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
