Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at CHI. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of competency in decontamination, sterilization, and sterile storage activities.
  • Process and maintain an adequate level of instruments necessary for efficient functioning of customer departments.
  • Understand and implement appropriate processes for handling and decontamination of soiled instruments, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization.
  • Provide preceptor support to other employees and educational programs to team members.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner to prevent injury to self, patients, visitors, or other hospital personnel.
  • Contribute to maintaining supplies and sterile items for use throughout the hospital.
  • Process Code Carts and perform cleaning and decontamination duties.
  • Perform wrapping and packaging duties and knowledge to assemble instrument sets from all surgical areas and other departments.
  • Perform sterilization and monitoring activities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CRCST certification required within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a sterile processing technician.
