Job Summary

The Refrigeration Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of ammonia refrigeration equipment and systems, including valve groups, compressors, electric motors, pumps, condensers for evaporators, compressed air, PLCs, and related processes.
  • Ensure that all refrigeration equipment is maintained and repaired in accordance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all company-established safety standards, policies, and procedures, as well as state and federal laws, including EPA, OSHA, and MOSH, concerning refrigeration operations.
  • Solicit and review bids and quotes from vendors; select and manage vendor work.
  • Collaborate with VP Operations and Facilities Maintenance.
  • Direct repair and maintenance activities for Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
  • Purchase parts and supplies for refrigeration equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance projects comply with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental requirements and regulations.
  • Review and approve time sheets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area that promotes safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to build teams and develop/coach/mentor employees.
  • Keep full and up-to-date records of all equipment to ensure traceability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of refrigeration experience.
  • Reta Operator 1 & 2 Certified.
  • OSHA and EPA training certification for Ammonia Refrigeration.
  • PSM and RMP training.
  • Tier Level II Reporting.
  • Hazmat Certification.
Skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate hourly employees.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and effectively articulate and communicate information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using powered equipment (forklift, electric pallet jack).
