With over 25 years of experience and operations in multiple states, we are dedicated to producing exceptional products while prioritizing safety and fostering an outstanding workplace culture.
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of shipments between the company and its vendors or customers. This role encompasses the management of shipments and the transportation of goods.
Compensation: $23.50/hour
Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 9pm-5am
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for shipping operations.
- Verify freight loads against Purchase Orders and Sales Orders.
- Schedule and monitor outbound freight.
- Ensure all carriers comply with specified tolerances and requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date profiles on vendor routing guides.
- Accurately report vendor-managed inventory receipts into the system while addressing any discrepancies.
- Extract essential data from load plans and input it into the logistics management systems, ensuring accuracy.
- Coordinate shipments to guarantee timely deliveries to customers.
- Make critical, time-sensitive decisions.
- Operate forklifts and assist with loading/unloading trucks as needed.
- Prepare packing lists and assign loads to operators.
- Verify all staged loads for accuracy.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance for shipping approvals.
- Create packing lists and Bill of Lading paperwork to confirm accurate quantities.
- Communicate any changes with the Customer Supply Chain Manager.
- Monitor and verify on-hand inventory levels.
- Review performance metrics with the Customer Supply Chain Manager.
- Submit documentation of completed shipments to customers.
- Uphold Alene standards of performance and adhere to safety and housekeeping protocols.
- Ensure the Logistics department is organized and aligned to meet daily objectives.
- Participate in company-wide and departmental process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain all designated areas in good working order.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in a logistics environment.
- Strong familiarity with databases and transactional processes.
- Proficient in MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Outlook, and Pivot Tables.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.
- Understanding of inventory management concepts and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in seasonal business operations is a plus.
- Background in Inventory Control.
- Proficient in IFS and SAP systems.
Initiative:
Ability to exercise judgment in following established routines and adapting to changing priorities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This position requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling or touching objects. The employee may need to kneel, crouch, sit, climb, or balance. Lifting and/or moving more than 50 pounds may be required with assistance. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and aromas is common, with occasional exposure to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
