Job Summary

The Turndown Attendant is a key member of our Housekeeping team at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa. This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our guest rooms, including interior and exterior areas, to provide an exceptional experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Prepare and transport cleaning supplies and equipment to assigned areas.
  • Review and complete work assignments from the Housekeeping Department, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Enter guest rooms in accordance with established procedures, verifying vacancy before entering.
  • Restock guest amenities and supplies, replace dirty linen and terry with clean items, and make beds.
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas, adhering to Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa guidelines and standards.
  • Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items, and check appliances to ensure they are present and functioning.
  • Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances, and dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
  • Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties, following established protocols.
  • Follow all OSHA and MSDS rules and regulations, and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work environments to your manager/supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, and support the team to achieve common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, expectations, and standards, and identify opportunities to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.
Requirements
  • Prior housekeeping experience is required, preferably in a resort or related field.
  • Schedule flexibility is essential, with the ability to work PM and AM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
  • Must be able to multi-task, lift, pull, and push a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Able to stand for long periods and move moderate distances throughout the shift.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with vendors, guests, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience at a Five Diamond Resort is desirable.
  • Dynamic and personable individuals are encouraged to apply.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent or occasional need to perform reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.
  • Constant need to perform grasping, turning, and finger dexterity.
  • Occasional need to stand for long periods.
  • Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently and 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Vision requirements: constant need to view small print, frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms' reach.
  • Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on the telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to the general public, and converse with staff.
