Patient Support Specialist

PeaceHealth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Team Support - Outpatient Oncology to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the healthcare team in maintaining an efficient and safe patient care environment.
- Provide patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Meet or exceed customer needs as a patient advocate, exercising discretion in the management of patient information and assuring strict patient confidentiality.
- Perform clerical duties on the unit, including accurate transcription of orders, coordination of patient admission, discharge, and transfer, and coordination of patient registration, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.
- Monitor, maintain, and order unit supplies.
- Promote the safety and security of the unit through a working knowledge of fire, biohazard, electrical safety, infection control policies, and disaster plan.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Previous Certified Nursing Assistant experience and/or Unit Secretary or related experience.
- Required: Certified Nurse Assistant - Washington and Basic Life Support.
This role requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices, and to perform hands-on CPR for at least 20 minutes using a reasonable amount of force. The role also requires frequent sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling.
The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles. The role also requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members in a noisy environment.

PeaceHealth requires a completed Primary Vaccine Series (e.g., 2 dose monovalent Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax series or 1 dose J&J vaccine series) or be Up to Date (receiving the most recent Pfizer/Moderna bivalent vaccine/booster) for COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date.
