Grant Business Manager Position Overview

This business professional role within the Office of Grants Management serves as a dedicated expert in providing technical guidance and support for the review of grant reporting and the administration of grants for various programs, including capital grants. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and complete their work in a timely manner. This position provides a steady workflow and is a key aspect of the grant administration process. We welcome interested applicants who can effectively manage this critical workflow to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the administration and compliance of statewide complex and high-risk legislatively directed capital grants, Governor's Office-directed capital grants, and DCEO special project grants.
  • Receive, process, review, and make determinations on all grant fiscal reports and required supporting documents.
  • Develop and implement internal deadlines to ensure timely processing of grant tasks and serve as the central point of contact during the life of complex, problematic, or high-risk grants and other grants to the grantee and the Department.
  • Lead the Grant Administration Unit by providing support, coaching, and collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and experience equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires two years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Specialized Skills and Experience
  • Requires two years of experience in grant administration or grant monitoring, including federal, state, and/or local grants.
  • Requires two years of experience with fiscal and performance/program reporting, including skill in reviewing reports for quality control and compliance with state and/or federal statutes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer two years of experience in grant administration or grant monitoring of federal, state, and/or local grants.
  • Prefer two years of experience with fiscal and performance/program reporting, including skill in reviewing reports for quality control and compliance with state and/or federal statutes.
  • Prefers two years' experience in reviewing fiscal reports and performing fiscal reconciliations, budget formation, or budget variance analysis.
  • Prefers two years or more of developing and making public presentations, conducting training, and providing technical assistance to program or grant participants in both oral and written forms of communication.
  • Prefers expert-level experience and ability in the utilization of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and grant reporting tracking, reporting, and compliance metrics.
  • Prefers two years of professional experience in grant tracking and reporting systems.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires ability to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires an appropriate, valid driver's license.
  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as necessary.
