Group Exercise Instructor II

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor II to join our team at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. As a key member of our wellness department, you will be responsible for leading group exercise classes, promoting a safe and healthy environment, and providing exceptional customer service to our members.
Key Responsibilities- Lead group exercise classes, including setup and teardown, and ensure a high level of service to participants.
- Stay updated on current issues regarding group fitness and wellness programs.
- Promote and evaluate group exercise classes to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for members.
- Maintain certifications and training requirements, including CPR/AED and wellness certifications.
- Assist with staff meetings and trainings, and participate in wellness cabinet activities.
- Ensure incident/accident reporting procedures are followed, and perform other duties as assigned.
- High school or GED degree required.
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- One or more years of experience in teaching group exercise classes.
- National group exercise certification from a recognized organization, such as ACE, ACSM, or AFAA.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including a criminal record check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
This position requires sitting, bending, stooping, standing, and exposure to noise levels at an average of 90 decibels over an eight-hour day.
