Food Service Operations Manager

At Episcopal Homes of Minnesota, we pride ourselves on over 130 years of excellence in senior care services. Our organization provides a variety of living arrangements and services, including Senior Apartments, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Care facilities. Position Overview:

The Food Service Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of food service personnel to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with established standards. This role includes training and guiding new staff in all facets of food service and sanitation practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas, storage, and service points to ensure adherence to safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop and maintain the department's Mission, Vision, and Goals, along with the Annual Quality Plan.
  • Participate in the hiring process, evaluate staff performance regularly, and manage employee terminations as necessary.
  • Facilitate orientation and specialized training for new employees.
  • Plan and implement ongoing training programs to enhance employee competencies.
  • Create and manage work schedules, including vacation planning, while monitoring attendance records.
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate and align with qualifications and operational needs.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of food service employees.
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, including portion control, presentation, and temperature.
  • Provide training and support to new hires in food service and sanitation protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Previous supervisory experience in food service is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong skills in production management and personnel development are desirable.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective techniques for task completion.
  • Understanding of food service sanitation and food production processes.
  • Familiarity with special dietary requirements.
