About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Controller to join our team at Morehouse School of Medicine. As an Accounting Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Coordinate all audit activity.
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Establish accountability controls such as account reconciliation and timely resolution of reconciling differences.
  • Provide assistance to other departmental units in the preparation of financial reports, and indirect cost and fringe benefit proposals.
  • Ensure that all tax payments and reports are made and filed on a timely basis.
  • Manage financial software applications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred.
