The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager of the Service Center in the leadership and implementation of the plant's processes and KPIs to ensure the plant delivers to defined and set targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Deliver Operational Budgets: As a key member of the plant leadership team, develop and deliver the plant's operational budget and performance metrics.
- Improve Efficiency and Safety: Deliver more efficient and safer methods of meeting the needs and expectations of our customers and IFCO Systems.
- Monitor and Audit Plant Functions: Monitor/Audit all functions performed within the facility including Safety, HR/Payroll, Quality/AIB processes, Production, Financial, and other general day-to-day functions.
- Manage Shift Supervisors: Working closely with the General Manager and Office manager to monitor daily productivity, shipping, receiving, and data entry performed in association with these functions.
- Enhance Plant Operations: Collaborate with the Office Manager and Shift Supervisors to enhance all functions and operations conducted within the facility to produce a better-quality product, a safer workplace, and a more efficient operation.
- Provide Leadership: Provide coverage during the absence of the General Manager and ensure quality, safety, and financial goals are met while maintaining all policies and procedures set forth by IFCO Systems.
- Support Future Projects: Support and assist in future projects as assigned by senior management.
- Education: 2-to-4-year degree in management or equivalent experience.
- Background: Background in Lean or 6 Sigma skills.
- OSHA Training: Documented OSHA safety training and/or accreditation strongly preferred.
- Management Experience: At least 5+ years of previous management experience in a high-volume production/warehousing facility is required.
- Leadership Experience: Experience managing 100+ personnel in a high-volume 24-hour production/warehouse environment required.
- Safety Program Management: Safety program management experience required.
- Language Skills: Fluency in spoken Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Planning and Organization: Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle high-volume operational requirements.
- P&L and Budget Process: Knowledge of P&L and budget process preferred.
- Applicable Laws: Familiar with applicable federal and state laws pertaining to wage and hour, employee relations, and safety.
- Computer Literacy: Computer literacy required, including proficiency in standard business applications included in Microsoft Office Suite.
