Job Summary

The Pre-Employment Screening Specialist is responsible for conducting thorough background checks, including drug and nicotine testing, and fingerprinting for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air employees. This role supports the overall onboarding process, ensuring compliance with company policies, federal regulations, and TSA directives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-employment testing and make determinations based on regulatory guidance.
  • Enforce direct-observation specimen collections as required.
  • Collect fingerprints for crew badging, port IDs, and USPS screening.
  • Process ID photos and print new hire badges.
  • Ensure prerequisites are met for secure access requests.
  • Add and update badge access.
  • Document, communicate, and escalate access security issues.
  • Partner with Corporate Security on new area access-control requirements.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a service-oriented role.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including database programs and online information tracking.
  • Skills in security, compliance, communication, risk management, customer service, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management.
  • Adeptness at relationship-building with various levels of leadership.
  • Self-starter with initiative in finding solutions to complex problems.
  • Proven ability to work independently and prioritize competing priorities.
  • Valid U.S. passport.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Alaska Airlines' and Horizon Air's Drug & Alcohol policies, 49 CFR Part 40, 14 CFR Part 121, and TSA directives.
  • Working knowledge of OnGuard or other access management systems.
