Join Our Team as a Research Scientist Intern in Neuromotor Control

At Meta, we're pushing the boundaries of augmented reality and human-computer interaction. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Scientist Intern to contribute to our cutting-edge research in neuromotor control.

About the Role

We're looking for a researcher with a strong background in systems, cognitive, or computational neuroscience, electrical engineering, or a related field. As a Research Scientist Intern, you'll work on projects that span modeling, algorithm development, and human-in-the-loop experimentation. You'll have access to cutting-edge technology, resources, and testing facilities, and collaborate with a diverse and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan and execute applied research to advance neuromotor control capabilities.
  2. Use quantitative research methods to define, iterate upon, and advance key areas of our research agenda.
  3. Collaborate with dynamic teams of researchers and engineers.
  4. Organize and lead research activities, including experimental design and implementation, data collection, modeling, and analysis.
  5. Communicate research activities and findings to collaborators across various disciplines.
Requirements
  1. Currently pursuing or has a PhD in systems, cognitive, or computational neuroscience, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of research-oriented implementation skills, including experience with scientific Python, data analysis, and scientific communication tools.
  3. 1+ years of experience in experimental design of user studies and statistical analysis to interpret results.
  4. Proven research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience working with neural data or other multi-channel timeseries sensor data.
  2. Experience with multimodal recording systems.
  3. Familiarity with signal processing, including real-time signal processing.
  4. Experience with haptic perception and motor control.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive compensation package, including $7,500/month to $11,333/month, plus benefits. Our internships are 12-24 weeks long, and we have various start dates throughout the year. Some projects may require a minimum of 16 consecutive weeks.
