Research Scientist Intern

At Meta, we're pushing the boundaries of augmented reality and human-computer interaction. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Scientist Intern to contribute to our cutting-edge research in neuromotor control.
About the RoleWe're looking for a researcher with a strong background in systems, cognitive, or computational neuroscience, electrical engineering, or a related field. As a Research Scientist Intern, you'll work on projects that span modeling, algorithm development, and human-in-the-loop experimentation. You'll have access to cutting-edge technology, resources, and testing facilities, and collaborate with a diverse and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute applied research to advance neuromotor control capabilities.
- Use quantitative research methods to define, iterate upon, and advance key areas of our research agenda.
- Collaborate with dynamic teams of researchers and engineers.
- Organize and lead research activities, including experimental design and implementation, data collection, modeling, and analysis.
- Communicate research activities and findings to collaborators across various disciplines.
- Currently pursuing or has a PhD in systems, cognitive, or computational neuroscience, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of research-oriented implementation skills, including experience with scientific Python, data analysis, and scientific communication tools.
- 1+ years of experience in experimental design of user studies and statistical analysis to interpret results.
- Proven research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results.
- Experience working with neural data or other multi-channel timeseries sensor data.
- Experience with multimodal recording systems.
- Familiarity with signal processing, including real-time signal processing.
- Experience with haptic perception and motor control.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including $7,500/month to $11,333/month, plus benefits. Our internships are 12-24 weeks long, and we have various start dates throughout the year. Some projects may require a minimum of 16 consecutive weeks.
