Job Title: Research Scientist Intern in Sensor Fusion and Tracking

Meta Reality Labs is seeking a highly motivated and talented research scientist intern to join our team in Redmond, WA. As a research scientist intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in sensor fusion and tracking, and contribute to the development of innovative technologies for augmented and virtual reality.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute research projects to advance AR/VR interaction technologies in the areas of sensor fusion, calibration, and tracking.
  • Collaborate with other researchers, engineers, and user experience researchers to prototype hardware and software solutions, and run experiments to advance the project.
  • Work with leading academic researchers in the field to publish research in top-tier journals or at leading international conferences.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing or has a PhD degree in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a relevant technical field.
  • Excellent research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results.
  • Proficiency in C++, Matlab, or Python.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with sensor fusion (e.g. IMUs, depth sensor, CV) and its real-time applications.
  • Experience with hand tracking or human body tracking.
  • Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
  • Intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
  • Availability for minimum 16 consecutive week internship.
