About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Welder to join our team at Mettler-Toledo. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Layout, fit, and weld materials using production orders, standard work, blueprints, and other documents related to the Engineering/Customer specification.
  • Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets.
  • Maintain all welding equipment used in the department.
  • Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders.
  • Perform daily activities safely and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Actively participate in facility 5S and Lean initiatives.
  • Safely operate fork trucks and cranes.
  • Maintain quality throughout the weld process.
Requirements
  • High School graduate with excellent math and reading/writing ability.
  • Prior fork-lift/crane certification (preferred); the ability to be certified required.
  • Current or past AWS certification for D1.1 or D1.5 preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard AWS symbols.
  • Ability to work effectively with torches, cutters, staplers, hand/pneumatic tools, and hand tools (hammers, torque wrench, crow bars, etc.).
  • Ability to work with fixtures.
  • Ability to safely operate Jib and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections based on set expectations.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality record.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.
  • Ability and drive to meet customer quality and delivery requirements.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to inspect own work and the work of others.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on details.
  • Ability to work overtime when required (some on weekends).
  • Ability to work from order schedules.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to follow through in completing assignments.
