Position Overview
Under general supervision, the Quality Control Technician will undertake intricate inspection duties utilizing advanced measuring instruments. This role involves providing technical assistance to the production team and supporting the quality manager with specialized tasks to uphold quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, diagrams, and specifications as required.
- Conduct inspection activities using advanced measuring tools, including Optical Gauging Devices.
- Alert relevant personnel when enhancements are necessary to elevate manufacturing process quality and assist in the execution of these improvements.
- Manage inspection requirements to meet immediate, intermediate, and long-term needs.
- Gather, assess, and report statistical data on process performance.
- Generate quality reports as needed.
- Support receiving inspections, supplier corrective actions, and the implementation of product corrective and preventive measures as required.
- Perform internal quality audits as necessary.
- Adhere to documented procedures and work instructions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of one year of experience in plastic manufacturing and/or quality assurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong decision-making abilities.
- Capability to work under pressure with shifting priorities.
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
- Meticulous attention to detail, including visual inspection of various parts.
- Familiarity with blueprints and the use of inspection, measurement, and testing devices.
- Proficient in PC usage, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- Ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance symbols.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records and understanding engineering specifications and drawings.
- Experience with software systems commonly used in the quality industry (Word, Excel, Statistical Data Programs, CPK, etc.).
- Knowledge of cosmetic specifications for plastic molded, screen printed, and pad printed components.
- Ability to discern subtle differences in objects, shapes, and colors.
- Prior experience in plastics and/or inspection is essential.
Compensation: Starting at $17/hr, with potential for higher earnings through overtime.
