At Abbott, we're committed to helping people live more fully at all stages of life. Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals, and branded generic medicines. Our 114,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our life-changing products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to complete software testing and activities in conjunction with user stories within the Agile SDLC process. You'll review deliverables/activities for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance, ensuring adequate test coverage for every release.
Key Responsibilities
Strategically incorporate automated testing into the SDLC, developing and optimizing automation scripts and frameworks. You'll design, code, and manage automation scripts using Python, working on automation frameworks like Appium, Selenium, and Robot. You'll focus on enhancing the efficiency and scalability of these scripts across various applications, from data handling to system configurations. Additionally, you'll develop comprehensive automated testing frameworks to support both unit and integration testing, ensuring these frameworks adhere to the rigorous quality standards of the medical industry. You'll perform exploratory testing, system-level end-to-end testing, develop test datasets, and execute automation scripts to ensure application software releases are of high quality. You'll also tailor automation solutions to meet the specific needs of the medical industry, focusing on regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Regularly, you'll review and optimize existing automation systems, identifying new opportunities for automation within the company's processes to reduce manual intervention and increase reliability. You'll provide guidance and support to other team members on best practices in automation, leading automation projects and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements. Finally, you'll produce high-quality documentation for all automated systems and updates, ensuring documentation meets compliance standards required in the medical industry.
Requirements
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test with a strong background in software testing and quality assurance. You'll have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, or engineering discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in software testing and/or software quality assurance. You'll also have 3-5 years of experience working as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), with hands-on coding experience in Python. You'll be technically strong, with experience testing mobile applications, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer Science degree is strongly preferred, as well as experience working in a regulated industry, medical device experience, and experience in an agile development environment. Cyber security, medical mobile applications, or cloud computing experience is also a plus.
