Job Summary

The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team in the Geriatric Emergency Department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide psychosocial and clinical support services to older adult patients and their families, ensuring a comprehensive and compassionate care experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop care plans with patients and their families
  • Provide mental health counseling and therapy, crisis intervention counseling, and grief counseling as needed
  • Collaborate with internal medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Provide referrals to community resources and services to support patients and families
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Work and current licensure in clinical social work (LCSW), LGSW or LICSW preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical social work experience, with knowledge of mental health resources and psychosocial resources in Washington, DC
