Maintenance Tech I Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Tech I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Identify, modify, adjust, and repair mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic parts and equipment.
  • Technical Expertise: Read and interpret technical drawings or diagrams, including blueprints, schematics, and mechanical renditions.
  • Tool Operation: Utilize a variety of power tools, hand tools, gauging and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
  • Reliability Improvement: Thoroughly understand and demonstrate the ability to improve equipment reliability to minimize downtime, improve efficiencies, and produce a high-quality product to specification in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Purchasing and Inventory: Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and outside technical services in accordance with established company protocol and procedures.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Assist in the establishment and implementation of systematic preventative maintenance programs with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
  • Equipment Failure Investigation: Investigate equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns, providing corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor parts requests to ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met according to the departmental budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead Maintenance related CI tasks, reporting back to management with status updates.
  • Resource Management: Facilitate the selection of appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and assure on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure, enforce, and adhere to all legislative requirements.
  • Team Motivation: Constantly enhance the motivation and team-spirit of all operation staff.
  • Accident Prevention: Minimize the risk of accidents and pollution.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical technology, mechatronics, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5 or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5 or more years of maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, mechanical, and robotics systems; ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic; proficiency in Microsoft Office; and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
