The Patient Access Representative will provide exceptional patient service by greeting patients in a friendly and courteous manner, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and performing various administrative tasks as assigned. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to collect, verify, and enter patient data while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to federal, state, and MaineHealth policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
* Answer telephones and respond to patient inquiries
* Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
* Collect and verify patient data, including demographic and insurance information
* Enter patient data into electronic systems and maintain accurate records
Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
* Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification desired
* Minimum one year of customer service or data entry experience in a healthcare environment preferred
* Familiarity with healthcare billing and diagnostic coding preferred
