About the Job

This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-profile commercial projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with a focus on budgeting, subcontractor management, blueprint reading, scheduling, site management, and team leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing all stages of project life cycle, managing construction schedules and coordinating with various teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure construction project follows the design.
  • Managing the site, including ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, conducting regular site inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Developing and managing project budgets, controlling project costs, and ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Leading and motivating a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving construction problems, mitigating project risks, and implementing changes where necessary.
  • Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear and consistent communication.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, subcontractor management, blueprint reading, scheduling, and site management.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A thorough understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software.
  • A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field would be advantageous.
