About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned development professional to lead our efforts in securing philanthropic support for Indiana University Indianapolis campus-wide initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with major gift donors, identifying and pursuing new opportunities, and working closely with academic leaders to advance the university's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive major gift strategy to secure philanthropic support for IU Indianapolis campus-wide initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with major gift donors, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities
  • Work closely with academic leaders to advance the university's strategic goals and priorities
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to leverage resources and expertise
  • Manage a portfolio of gift prospects and donors to secure private philanthropic support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in fundraising or relevant experience in a complex organization
  • Proven success in major gift development work, with a track record of securing significant gifts
  • Previous supervisorial experience is strongly preferred
  • Specific fundraising experience in areas of Student Affairs, Scholarships, Honors Programs is a plus
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000.00-$115,000.00, commensurate with experience. This is a mobile role that requires primarily regional travel to meet with donors/friends of the University, while averaging 3 days in-office and 2 days of remote work per week when not traveling.
