Job Summary

We are seeking a Design Manager with a blend of creative vision, technical expertise, sales acumen, and strong leadership skills. In this role, you will manage the design process from concept to execution, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with Gallery objectives and deliver strong ROI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface extensively with department leaders, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with design narratives, brand standards, and strategic objectives.
  • Strategize with project stakeholders to create project design briefs that meet both client and Gallery expectations.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the success of design and construction projects.
Sales & Business Development
  • Collaborate closely with the Design & Sales team to ensure that design solutions meet client needs and align with business development goals.
  • Leverage previous experience supporting sales organizations to present design concepts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying analytical skills and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Interface with clients and vendors to understand project requirements, address inquiries, and ensure alignment on design objectives and deliverables.
  • Maintain industry relationships.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Lead or participate in key internal and external design coordination meetings, construction meetings, and onsite field coordination, ensuring that design priorities are met.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from concept to execution, reviewing shop drawings, specifications, and value engineering materials to ensure adherence to brand standards.
Technical Expertise
  • Provide comprehensive understanding of technical design, including detailed design drawing sets, specifications, finishes, and shop drawings.
  • Review all design documentation for completeness, accuracy, and technical clarity, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in interior and architectural design, particularly in retail, hospitality, or restaurant design.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in leading and managing design projects in a construction or architectural environment.
  • Sales experience, particularly in client-facing roles where design solutions are presented and sold, is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural and engineering principles, building codes, construction standards, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) design competence.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with a focus on budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a sense of accountability and attention to detail.
Compensation

Salary: $92,000 – $102,000 per year commensurate with experience.

Hybrid with 3-4 days in office at our headquarters located in Denver, Colorado.
