Compensation Range: $22-$30

At Midland States Bank, the base salary is just one aspect of our Total Rewards program. The specific compensation is influenced by various factors such as education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This role also provides additional compensation through short-term incentives (e.g., bonuses and/or commissions) and may include long-term incentives (e.g., stock awards). Position Overview

The Treasury Analyst plays a vital role in maintaining operational records and supporting the month-end closing process for designated entities. This position is responsible for overseeing the coordination and reconciliation of daily activities through the Treasury platform, focusing on cash, security, and debt movements for the bank and its holding company. This role is an individual contributor position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members to efficiently address Treasury inquiries.
  • Prepares and organizes all necessary management and board reports.
  • Manages and monitors bank account balances, including daily reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Establishes and maintains controls to ensure daily liquidity requirements are met and reconciling items are resolved promptly.
  • Assists in the month-end closing process for assigned entities, ensuring financial results are accurate prior to supervisory review.
  • Facilitates the settlement and reconciliation of payments related to various investments and debt obligations.
  • Acts as the primary contact between safekeeping and bond accounting agents, as well as brokers and dealers.
  • Contributes to projects related to treasury and other financial domains.
  • This role may require occasional travel for training and team meetings, with a willingness to travel as necessary.
  • May necessitate working in a Midland office to foster collaboration and support for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in accounting.
  • Familiarity with fixed income securities and derivative cash flows, settlements, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
