Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Credit Specialist to join our team at First Mid-Illinois Bancshares. As a key member of our credit analysis team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough financial statement reviews and credit analyses for commercial and agricultural loan relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial statements to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and ensure compliance with established lending policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Credit Analysis: Perform in-depth credit analyses to evaluate the repayment capacity and collateral coverage of borrowers, making recommendations to loan officers and/or loan committees as needed.
  • Risk Management: Monitor loan requests and assign risk ratings based on established written lending policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Industry Research: Conduct research on industry-specific information from outside sources to provide analysis and support credit decisions.
  • Collateral Evaluation: Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including credit bureaus, Experian Business Credit, and other industry sources.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers and other team members to foster relationships and enhance the bank's understanding of credits.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete credit administration tasks, including annual reviews, financial covenant tracking, and borrowing base tracking.
  • Professional Development: Complete required training associated with the job function and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or commensurate banking experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software, specifically Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office.
  • Formal Training: Formal training in Microsoft Excel is preferred.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
