KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER
  • Design and articulate system architecture for both new and existing computing systems, ensuring seamless integration and security.
ROLE OVERVIEW
  • Contribute to the successful execution of engineering initiatives and projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Engage in intricate systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire systems life cycle.
  • Manage complex infrastructure tasks, including the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems and application software.
  • Conduct advanced systems modeling, simulation, and analytical assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for engineering processes and projects.
  • Stay informed on rapidly evolving technologies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals.
  • Possibly lead teams or specific tasks.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain CI Poly.
CRUCIAL SKILLS
  • Proficient in Linux system administration.
  • Experience with scripting and coding (Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Ansible and Helm charts.
  • Expertise in automation techniques.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • In-depth knowledge in one of the following areas along with a working understanding of others:
  • Operational support methodologies.
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking, etc.).
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux and associated technologies.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Ceph storage solutions.
  • Version control with GitLab.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant experience.
