The Wound Ostomy Nurse serves as a clinical resource and consultant for patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. This role provides inpatient clinical services throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Wound/Ostomy Care Clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and clinical consultation for patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, percutaneous tubes, and moisture-related skin injuries.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote wound healing and ostomy management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in education and research activities to advance wound and ostomy care.
- Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- 2 years Acute care experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Certification from Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) upon hire.
