Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly qualified Accounting Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at Virginia Western Community College. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching college-level courses in accounting, including Principles and Intermediate Accounting, Payroll and Computerized Accounting, and Taxation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach accounting courses to students in a classroom and online setting
  • Develop and implement curriculum and assessments to meet the needs of students
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments in accounting

Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in accounting
  • Two years' recent occupational experience in accounting, including financial or managerial accounting, payroll, taxation, and use of QuickBooks
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • MOS Excel 2010 or later certification and Intuit QuickBooks certification
  • Experience using technology in the classroom and teaching online
  • Experience teaching in a community college setting
